Trying to keep our office open but some of the staff live in Chalmette and Lafitte. Those areas deal with surge on baby storms so I tend to have to let them go a few hours early just on the off change it jogs west. Dosent help that schools/courts and the like are all closed.

He was walking with 2 other family members and went out to about knee deep. The sand had been acting funny for 2 days...like disappearing under your feet. It is totally hard to describe and was weird. It obviously happened to him and he fell down. The waves were outrageous and it literally sucked him out. The family started screaming and somebody in a house on the beach called the police. They showed up with a jet ski and were running back and forth in the crazy surf and lightning and rain. Found him bobbing close to shore about a 1/4 a mile from where he went in about 10 minutes later and got him to shore with no sign of life and did CPR...Vomiting sand and water...they finally got a heart beat going and they got him to Baldwin County and he is on life support with no response since he got there. The family said the physicians have given them no hope.. He was from Memphis.

I was in Dauphin Island this weekend and people were all over in the water. It was pulling slightly West and the waves were bigger than normal, but nothing that screamed to get out of the water

Does anyone know if Jefferson Parish courts will be open tomorrow?
Asking for a friend.
