So I’m planning on driving from Pensacola to Lake Charles tonight using as many coastal roads and highways as possible starting at exactly 11pm, when will this thing make landfall and at what precise location and will it rain during my trip? Thanks guyz, I haven’t been keeping up with this at all until just now even though I’m staring down the barrel of a Cat 1.

Someone had to make the customary pop-in-the-thread-and-ask-an-idiotic-question-about-driving-at-the-worst-possible-fricking-time post

Looks like it moved east a bit more. At this point in not sure we'll get any significant rain at all. Especially when they inevitably continue to push it further east throughout the day.

Track actually looks like it shifted west

Why coastal roads? Just take 1-10.

Doesnt matter. Storm is so disorganized and lopsided yall need to stop worrying about 10 mile track shifts

You know there are some who are always itching to have it bearing down right on Louisiana as strong as possible.

It was a joke, hence the “ /s “ for sarcasm after the post.
It was a slight exaggeration making fun of the people that always pop into these threads and post ludicrous questions like that, referring to it as “this thing” and asking exactly where it’ll make landfall as if anyone knows at this point. It was really popular last hurricane season it seemed...

WHy are you making jokes in a hurricane thread? People could die.

There are also some of us though that a 30 mile shift westward could be problematic. I'm not a wishcaster at all, but the fact of the matter is that I have three kids in school in Tangipahoa Parish and a wife that teaches in Livingston that with this shift could cause the kids to get out a half day and completely change my work schedule.

Don't worry about him. This is a small storm. The tropical storm/hurricane force winds will be focused on a concentrated area. It's perfectly fine to highlight small shifts to the west when you are this close to the affected area.

Wish Shelby would have worn more of a money shirt for the big event.
