So the storm looks like it is going a little to the west but the cone moved a little to the east? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!

The path didn't change.

The dotted line is the current, it's literally sitting over the past two tracks.

There's going to be some uneven motion. If this west of expectation continues into the early morning, it'll shift the eventual path but the thinking definitely is a more N component is about to return.

#LSU Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is monitoring Tropical Storm Gordon. Currently, all campus activities remain scheduled. We will provide updates as necessary. All Tigers are encouraged to sign up for emergency texts

If the storm keeps at it's current general track people in SE Louisiana are going to wake up to something really interesting

MISSISSIPPI (WDAM) - Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant declared a state of emergency on Monday night due to Tropical Storm Gordon.

I have declared a state of emergency in advance of Tropical Storm #Gordon, making state resources and personnel available to affected areas. Please stay weather-aware and follow @MSEMA for real-time information.

I still like that LSU didn't cancel classes during that winter storm event last year where it snowed its arse off. I'm convinced they wouldn't cancel if a Cat 5 was targeting SE LA right now.

You’d rather the drunken idiot on WBRZ that develops weather forecasts sitting in his bar? It’s like watching Peej do weather on TV

The process that LSU goes through to shut down school still boggles my mind

If they do cancel anything its always last minute, you could commute to campus then get a text saying "Campus is closed, tornado incoming, take cover"

Tornado Warning. Shelter in place. Class isn't cancelled.
