It is crazy how sensitized everyone has gotten to these storms since then.
.

Loss of life and belonging with Katrina and floods coming out of nowhere can do this to a person.

It looks like Gordon took a pretty good jog to the west at the end of the current radar loop.

Id make sure you have a full tank of gas plus 5 gallons of water in car and enough MREs to last 3 days.

They don't update path on intermediate advisories.

Watching the IR, as rds mentioned, looking for signs of deep consistent convection to support strengthening. Getting those cold cloud tops shows the storm is pulling up more energy.

I am glad I was not the only one noticing that, probably short term will have to watch to see if we get more westward jogs.

Wobbling on radar doesnt count

It can do that as it reorganizes, not a change of course

Yeah, I see that now.. For some reason I thought it had moved a little West, but I compared the two and realized it actually hadn’t.. All I know is our EOC is saying to get ready..

The push for LSU to close is beginning

I’m a tad surprised it’s not closing. Not that Baton Rouge will have big issues from the storm, but Southeast La. is in the projected path and so many of LSU’s students’ families have homes in the path. And most of the students were home for the 3 day weekend. If homes are going to have flooding issues, the families are obviously going to want the kids home helping out.

This storm is going to be BOOKING IT. Flooding isn’t going to be a major issue.
