What good does a generator do if the electricity is out? You still have to plug the generator. In somewhere.

Is this a serious question

Salisbury is already under a Coastal Flood Warning. There has been a ton of rain around here lately and the ground is saturated everywhere. I'm not on the Eastern shore but the closest you get to the shore the worse off you're going to be, obviously.

I think you'll be ok flying in (I assume you're flying into BWI) as long as your airline doesn't cancel incoming flights but you will probably have some trouble flying out.

So far, no indication that state offices will be closing. If you have a phone number to an office you're going to you can try checking with them, but it's a wait-and-see thing right now. The State of Emergency is in effect. I will try and post updates as needed.

At least it's consistently crazy.

What concerns me is GFS did better than Euro with Gordon

Today’s tale of incredible stupidity from the VA:

Early word from my department chief at the Charleston VA is that, despite a mandatory evacuation order from the governor, the VA will remain open and ALL employees are expected to either take Annual Leave or come to work Wednesday prepared to stay there through the storm. If you have kids or pets, bring them with you.

I fully expect them to backtrack on this tomorrow once the employee backlash and threat of lawsuits fully manifests.

Yeah you're probably right. They won't be in the path of the storm, but I could see them being moved just because resources are needed elsewhere.

Yeah, if there is serious flooding it wont look good to have a pointless football game a couple hours away in the state.
