I am going to Biloxi this weekend (trip was planned months ago) to play some poker and perhaps some ladies.
Soooo... you plan a trip to the Gulf Coast at the height of Hurricane season. No threat likely this coming week.
You either gonna win big or catch the clap.

Frying Pan is located approximately 39 miles southeast of Southport, North Carolina and 32 miles from Bald Head Island, North Carolina.

Looks like Dorian will be a decent tornado producer already several videos of confirmed tornadoes this morning.
Some people more knowledgeable than me thought this might be the case today. Prayers to whoever is working the radar today.

41 nautical miles SE of Charleston...about 25-30 miles from center which is near/in the eye wall.

Waiting for the water color on that flag cam to go blue to green then dark grey... That's when the shite is hitting the...pan.

Yeah I've been watching buoy 41004. It's taking a direct hit and looks to be in the eye now. Sustained winds didn't get above tropical storm force though.

NC took a beating here last year with just CAT 1s hitting the coast. 2014 was the time IIRC a CAT 2 made landfall and Fran in 96 was the last time a CAT 3 made landfall in NC. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)

Near Steve the waves are being reported at 17 ft and still a good distant away.

Dorian is going to push a ton of water.
I'm very concerned about the OBX as there's a good (like near 50% chance) Dorian slides just to their west. Would be an Ike like surge. I really hope, for once, they actually listed to the evacuation.
The pictures of the tornadoes have been impressive. Fast moving, fast dissipating wedges coming off the water.

The real issue on the coast is they still have not recovered from last year. After all the flooding from the hurricanes we got so much rain in the winter and spring no time repair or strengthen weakened areas. The flooding may end up worse this year.
