Models have been drifting westward and the 18z Euro is getting uncomfortably close to Jacksonville. This track probably pushes a noticeable storm surge into the area.

Chilling that there were no people in any of the CNN video.

Just a guess, but they have probably moved the wounded to medical care and are now seeking food. I think most looting right now may involve canned goods and fishing gear.

Noticing a shift west that hasn’t brought it as straight north as I would like, going to sleep soon, this thing needs to do what it is supposed to over night

The Savannah weather people have obviously puckered anuses. They went from nothing to worry about yesterday to things can be really serious with no notice today.

Local weather here in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand of SC said they are expecting the center to be around 40-50 miles off the coast when it passes by.

Yep. SC governor set of a chain of panic by announcing a mandatory evac on Sunday. Georgia governor then felt he had to as well so he announced it via twitter at 1015 Sunday night blindsiding all the counties that were preparing in an orderly manner.

Now we've had people on mandatory evacuation since noon yesterday and the storm is still two days away.

Just got done walking the dogs and teaching my 3 year old how to ride a bike in the street. Yep. SC governor set of a chain of panic by announcing a mandatory evac on Sunday. This is the post of an arse. The governor doesn't have the luxury you do of caring only about his family. If you had any real responsibility you'd know that. The weight on his shoulders is far greater than some putz commenting on the internet.

This dumbassery needs to be repeated. 1,400 of those non pussies who didn't evacuate in Katrina died. The ones I saw in the shelters in Baton Rouge all regretted not heeding the warnings and all were in a state of disbelief. You always know what's better for everyone until it happens to you.

Man that is really tough to watch. I can't even comprehend what it must have felt like for those people to be in that.

"Safe" relative to the kind of person who saw what was coming toward the Bahamas, and decided to buy a flight into Abaco.

Early for this but the gfs has that wave coming off africa hitting NC/SC as a Cat 3/4 in the middle of the month

ETA and a very deep trough/cold front into LA at that time

There's two of them lined up, and if one of them develop there's a good chance we'll have a long track CV storm. Would likely get tucked under the subtropical ridge again.

Way out in fantasy time, lets get through Dorian for the Southeast then start looking ahead. At the very least it's seems it will be active for a lot of the month of September.
