S.C. Evacuations

S.C. governor just ordered mandatory evacuations for some coastal counties (including mine) starting tomorrow at noon. Seems a bit premature?

Looking for a secondary spike in winds before/after the eyewall depending on direction the plane is going. You see a secondary spike in winds when an eyewall replacement gets going.

It's in its infancy then, because it doesn't appear to be closed off based on the recon pass from the NW, and the radar supports that.

Spoke too soon. An EWRC may be starting. There are two faint blips on the SFMR surface winds.

Thanks!
And trivia: from this movie clip I got this from, what was the answer to fat boy's "A what?" question?

Recon and recent radar seem indicate that this might be starting. We have seen some false starts over the past few seasons with these very strong Atlantic storms but recon is in at a perfect time to confirm.

It should show up in the flight level too. There's not very much there tbh.

is that good or bad? won't this happen several more times before any landfall?

It's good and bad, while EWRC lower the overall maximum winds, the hurricane grows in size and more people could get tropical storm or hurricane force winds. Also can lead to bigger surges.

Evacuating a coast isnt the same as preparing. This is totally premature.

Up to my street, which was still 8-9 ft below where my house sits. It's the live oaks and pine trees that may be an issue. Lost a giant live oak in Irma w years ago and a pine tree snapped in half 30 feet up during Matthew.

All this fricking rain we been getting as well isnt going to help the tree situation . i have alot of pine trees that are near my house

Seems like a lot of the videos of damage that are online, were taken during the eye. Not much since. That has me really concerned.
