The angle of the sun brings the stadium effect out well in this gif.

I don't envy whoever gets this.

Dorian will drop at least a dozen more homes in the ocean this time.

Not specifically at you, but this looked like a good hook -- is there any consistent effect on beach erosion from a hurricane?

Can we assume the shoreline goes recedes, or assume nothing probably happens, or assume more sand shows up? Just luck of the draw, or can the effect be predicted?

Also, a bit of a south jog after correcting north the last few runs.
So are you thinking it will hit further south than NOAA is showing?

don’t see anything on page 4. Is Disney seriously staying open? I would imagine things have changed since 5 days ago

Like I said yesterday.....the parks will close but they aren't going to throw people out of the resorts into a Cat 4.

Yes. Matthew heavily damaged the coast. This one is worse and will do more damage to am already badly hurt dune system.

You think it will still be a CAT 4 by the time it gets to Orlando?

Yep. 5 days ago they said it would be at Disney around 2 pm on Monday. Now they are saying it is going to camp in the Disney area at least until Wednesday. It is still going to be at Disney on Monday.

That being said, Disney has their own police and fire departments. Their hotels open their ballrooms to their guests and feed them. They will never allow people to say they were not helpful.

Disney hotels are built to shelter at minimum a cat 3. The parks will close but the resorts will remain open. Disney provides most of their own power and it is all underground, so if power is lost, it won’t be out for long.

After reading about Disney in this thread(and I believe it all), if I was in east Florida anywhere near Disney, I think I would go stay on one of their properties during a hurricane.

Have to wait on the VDM but that seems reasonable.
