Hate to say but that area can't take much more if this thing has any kind of major shore surge it will almost all be in the ocean soon. Pretty much there is nothing left to protect that area. The dunes are almost all gone.

It helps to realize there is no such thing as momentum with hurricanes. They're basically soft as shite when it comes to steering - they're pushed around by other weather features. They don't dictate the steering environment, the environment dictates the storm.
This is one of the most informative posts I've ever read
I always assume a hurricane was being blown off Africa due west with a head of steam and various weather systems just try to knock the trajectory off course as it heads over to the Gulf.
So it's actually like the complete opposite, just taking the path of least resistance due to greater forces around it.

Not sure the ones that put up sea walls will do that much better.

That's a terrible track. Hits almost all the major population areas north of WPB.
Would be devasting.

The issue wasn't that the game itself was postponed. The threat as of Thursday validated it. Where Foley fricked up was by not coming up with a contingency plan Monday or Tuesday, so that when it came time to call it, there were no other options. Every other game in that region found a way to move the time or location in order to still play that weekend.

Man that path is horrible.

The wife(no pics) and I took a drive down A1A yesterday and I brought my gopro 7. We drove down to South Ponte Vedra and turned around at Vilano Beach. Dorian will drop at least a dozen more homes in the ocean this time. Hell the North eastern winds yesterday had the ocean almost hitting some of the homes. It won't be pretty come next weekend. I filmed our entire ride and even got out at Guana preserve to shoot video of the dunes they won't be there next weekend either.

I volunteer at guana.
Cleanup is going to suck
And yes, more houses will be lost or at least condemned due to foundations being compromised

I surf at micklers beach and Guana beach middle entrance. It's just a shame that these past hurricanes have destroyed a beautiful natural treasure. I have video 5 years ago of a dune valley with the beach walk ways going across it. Nothing but green dunes as far as you can see. Remember it was almost 60 years that this area had been hit than Irma and Matthew wrecked shite now it looks like Dorian will be the final blow. So sad.
