Act One

In 1980, deep in a nuclear missile silo in Arkansas, a simple human error nearly caused the destruction of a giant portion of the Midwest. Joe Richman, founder of Radio Diaries tells the story.

I listened to this audio book on my commute prior to pandemic. It's kinda overly detailed/boring but will educate you on TONS of shite you probably didn't know about the entire nuke program during the Cold War. Highly recommend, albeit on audio book at 1.2x's speed.

you’re not wrong, but it’s because Arkansas is the doormat of the SEC West most years. And the dirt and dust under that doormat, Miss St.

So yeah, everyone “likes” Arkansas more than LSU.

I’m sure SEC East teams “like” Vandy more than UGA.

Yes, every time. I don’t use You’re. I don’t believe in the needless over-grammatization of a living language

I think Kentucky is the popular team. Sometimes South Carolina. People have too many ethical hang ups over Vanderbilt

There is a pretty good PBS documentary on this incident (based on the book) called Command and Control.

Oh, for fricks sake. I just listened recently to a lecture by a linguist on how rules work in language. Your vs you’re is a fake construct that does nothing to obstruct the meaning of contextual language.

The actual rules of the English language are word order and correct use of prefixes and suffixes and tenses, etc.

Most of the rest of the useless rules are hyperbolic bullshite created by a couple of dudes who didn’t like English and tried to turn English into Latin,
