RIP

It is a hard life. Wrasslin' doesn't have an "ole timers" day.

Singularly, though, there may be no more significant figure in the expansion of the sport than Hogan. I think, just because he transcended the culture, Andre is still probably the greatest single figure in the history of the sport. The Hulkster has to be right there, though. Maybe Andre, then Hulk/Natch, then everybody else vying to be Tier 2?

and Hulk still won't do the job

In all the times they faced one another, Savage didn't get a single pinfall victory.

Andre was so great, he put Hulk over like it was breathing.

Yeah, but it cost the Hulkster to become "the first man to ever slam Andre". He tore 18 muscles in his back.

Yeah, and he wrestled 400 days a year.

And the Undertaker broke his neck.

And Lars Ulrich asked him to play bass for Metallica.

Hogan was, at his peak, nearly his billed height of 6'7" (some report 6'6", certainly high of 6'5" flat ) and around 300 pounds, probably give or take as much as 5%.

At the time of the slam, certainly he was a big, big man. Andre was the only wrassler they ever downplayed his actual measurements (maybe not the height so much, but the weight) in billing to keep them more believable.

That's easily 750 pounds of man, there, maybe closer to 800. Andre weighed north of 500 pounds at points in his life and for sure had matches where he was 485 or more.

Legend, and otherwise not a good guy . Thunderlips lied alot and threw alot of other wrestlers under the bus so he could remain on top ..ask Jesse Ventura

A piece of my childhood gone. Sad about this.

Maybe he will kick out at the funeral!

In an interview with Hulk about Andre he didn't mince words. "Thank God deep inside Andre was a gentle man because he could have seriously injured any of us if he wanted".

The venom the hardcore wrestling dorks have for hogan is so weird.

News flash: most wrestlers, especially from that era, weren’t great people

The Lord will suggest Hogan spend a stretch in Purgatory, to which the Hulkster replies while stroking his FuManchu, "That doesn't work for me, brother."
