HS students who took AP tests this week may have to retake due to technical glitch

Since the coronavirus pandemic has closed schools, students are forced to take their college credit exams online this year, but several students reported problems submitting the answers tfor their timed exam.
On Wednesday, The College Board said they "took a closer look and found that outdated browsers were a primary cause of these challenges," they wrote in a tweet.
With 45 seconds left in her exam, 11th-grader Maggie McLauchlin of Jacksonville, Florida, took a video of what appears to be a black screen as she tried to upload her exam answers as instructed by The College Board.
"I'm trying to take the picture but there's just black and I only have 45 seconds left," Maggie says tearfully. "It's not working."

I feel so bad for these kids. AP classes have so much homework and testing that it ends up dominating your life if you take many. I took AP classes when I was in Hs and looking back, they were way more difficult than college courses, because the daily required HW took hours, unlike most college courses where your grade is mostly just tests.
All that hardwork potentially down the drain because of a virus and shitty AP testing website.
Teachers are the ones who grade AP tests btw
If I were a teacher and was picked to grade AP tests this year, I would be ridiculously lenient

I took the AP test for US history on paper. We had to actually write down our answers. Kids today are spoiled.

They had an opportunity to practice a mock exam last week. If they did that, they would have known they had a problem and been able to fix it before the actual exam day.

What’s funny is most kids have updated browsers and did the readiness demo test college board released on May 4. It’s not the browser and class action lawsuits are about to begin

Back in my day, they told us the tests were graded at Princeton. They were on a 5 point scale too, so not much wiggle room.

Each exam is graded 3 times each based on a rubric. If different results they get graded 2 more times
