This happened about 10 days ago in Ohio state high school basketball tournament. Hang with it, the footage stalls between 25 -35 second mark then picks up again and the slow mo punch in the nuts at 46.

New angle

Interested in seeing people’s opinions if they watch the new video you posted. I agree with you that it now looks unintentional, and that the first video was very unfortunately misleading.

Her apology doesn’t sound hollow or contrived either — she even admits the video looks bad.

A concussion and skull fracture? I doubt it.

The batons are hollow and extremely light.

Look at the expression on her face. She hit that girl on purpose.

Didn’t the mother of the attacker claim that her little angel was the victim?

Lost in this story is the fact that her unhinged act cost not only her and the victim a chance at placing but also both entire relay teams. Imagine being a senior in the finals and this trash cost you a podium finish.

Batons in competition are usually made out of an aluminum alloy. While not heavy, they are very hard and would most certainly do damage if used as a weapon.

Every new angle and video I've seen of this just makes it look worse, and it becomes ever more clear it was an intentional hit.

And I'd bet you $1,000 that if you watched an hour of videos of Everett running other races, you would not see one single instance of her raising her arm and flailing it around like that with a baton in it, whether someone else is near her or not. There's no reason for a runner to waste energy doing that.

Your post links to a news video where they suggest Tucker was trying to cut in front of Everett, without having enough space to get in front of her. If so that explains why Tucker was upset, not that it's an excuse for attacking someone.

However when I watched the video it doesn't look like that is what Tucker was doing. She was passing Everett, and she was a little bit close to the left of her own lane, but she never stepped into the inside lane at all until after Everett hit her.

That coach, and the excuse, are fricking retarded. The girl that got hit was still in Lane 2 when she got hit. The argument that she had cut in front of the other girl when she was hit is absurd.

What new angle? That is the same video I have seen several times. She is looking directly at her while she cocks back to hit her.

She sould be looking ahead to the route.

Good angle there!

I'm sorry, but she's clearly looking at the other girl and even extends out towards her to hit her on the back of the head.

It's ridiculous to think just pumping your arms while running would cause that.

I think she lost her cool and did it intetionall and then somewhat regretted it.
