How will our actions today be judged 150 years from now?

And is it fair?

I am of the firm belief that it is improper and even immoral to judge historical figures by today's standards. Why? Because society morality is like the tides. It ebbs and flows. We should study the past, learn from the past and vow not to make the mistakes of the past. But we must also understand the morality of the day. It doesn't mean we accept it, or condone it, but it gives us a lens to understand why historical figures said and did the things they did. This is they way "I" (figuratively speaking) hope to be judged by future generations.

Thoughts?

They'll be appalled that we have animals as pets and remove all the statues of us.

I don't give a shite. Gonna do what I think is right, not what the future may or may not.

I'm sure our Chinese overlords will be fair in their judgement.

Trying to apply reason to the activities that are happening today is futile...

When I think back 150 years ago I think about some tough men and women building our country. I hope they look back and know who is causing these issues. I understand some don't like Trump, but its not his fault at all, but im sure in 150 years, he will be painted as the one responsible, like it is presently. Its very unfortunate people are acting like they do with no accountability.

Almost every reply on here so far, sans 1 or 2, is 100% correct.

We will be seen as weak. Allowing a generation of entitled, spoiled, and cowardly college students to control the image of America using liberal media and fascist strategy. Anyone not agreeing with their ideology becomes a target and is "beat" down on social media and liberal news programs.
The number of people engaging in this behavior is small minority. America must speak against this craziness and not let their the fascist behavior go unchecked.

Similarly to the Russians in 1917 and the Germans in 1932 with hopefully a less severe outcome unfortunately.

It'll be considered lunacy.

But if America, thanks to these communists, were to be enslaved and have destroyed most of the treasures of our past, future historians would certainly pronounce that they had civilized America.

Depends on who controls what history passes to the future. They will ultimately decide what our actions of today, who enacted them, and how they perceive them now are provided to our future generations.

I think about the Civil when I think back 150 years or so. America had not been a country for even 100 years and already attacking each other.

Over real issues at least. Today's issues are completely fabricated.
