I've never had a cracked fingertip.

I have, however, broken my distal phalanx in half. That's the last little bone in your finger, under your nail. Took a baseball to an extended middle finger and snapped the bone in half(it was just floating around in my fingertip) and busted my nail off.

Words can't describe how painful that shite was.

That's my go-to stuff for cracked fingertips and joints. I work with some solvents that will dry my hands in a heartbeat and this stuff helps a lot.

Works fast too and the added benefit is when it dries, it doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy, but a bit tacky.
