I don't answer the phone. If you are not in my contacts, leave me a message and I will add you and call you back. If you are not in my contacts I let the call go to VM. I don't decline it. I get maybe 5 a month. I tell my customers the plan also.

Did you make sure to put in the .gov? Because if you put in donotcall.com that sends your number straight to every call center in India.

I don’t think the government can solve this. They already tried with the do not call registry.
I think it has to be a private sector solution. Either the carriers themselves or the Apples/Googles/Samsungs of the world.

The DO NOT CALL registry worked great for both me and my wife. We rarely get spam calls any longer.

This has been pretty nice, very few spammers will take the time to identify themselves.

When I got my wife a new number, she got a spam call that same afternoon with giving her number to anyone yet. I’d say the cell carriers are part of the problem.

The spam calls are on top of the calls for Casandra who had my number before me. I’ve had this number for 7 years now and they are still trying to collect unpaid debt. I actually found where she lives in North Baton Rouge and feel like I should just give the callers her address.

Don’t know which cell provider you have but AT&T has a free service that blocks texts / calls from unknown numbers. It’s called ActiveArmor. I’m sure other carriers have something similar.
Almost once a day I get a call or text about tax debt though. I have no tax debt. I’ve blocked their numbers probably ten times and they keep contacting me from new numbers.

Those of us that often get calls from non-contacts on our work phones are screwed, can't use the spam filter or "ignore all non contacts" settings built in. I haven't found anything that will work for it while also letting through legitimate work calls. My work cell gets 10+ per day, and I HAVE to answer them because I can't tell what's a real call vs. AI robosales.
Luckily my personal phone gets practically zero because I have all the blocking goodies enabled. I've gotten to the point where I'm finding various ways to mess with the pajeets and AI, might as well make lemonade

While the US of A is on that side of the world blowing shite up, they need to hit about twenty of those call centers in those shite in the streets cities in India. One of them fckerz told me his name was Jose yesterday
