How to know if it’s food poisoning or stomach bug?

Is there really any way to know?
My wife got sick last night. Felt queasy and nauseous all day yesterday and spent the night puking and shitting. Still messed up this morning.
My kids and I are all fine so far. She hasn’t been anywhere in the last 2-3 days besides our house. She’s also a germ freak and washes her hands 20 times a day.
I’m thinking food poisoning but she says stomach bug. She also thinks everyone should stay home for a few days to avoid spreading it.

If you sincerely feel like you’re going to die, then it’s food poisoning. “Stomach bugs” are annoying. Food poisoning is debilitating. I’ve had it twice and there is nothing comparable save for a genuine case of the flu.

You'll know.
If it is food poisoning, it will be coming out both ends quite a lot. Last time I had it, it was about every 20-30 minutes for 24 hours. After that, you'll be done.
