Mrs. Allen and I decided to purchase some real estate abroad. We decided on Lake George near Bungendore, Australia. A close friend said “you’ll never grow a garden here!” He had a point – too cold, too hot, too windy, too dry … and then there’s that ‘Bywong clay’. And, as it turned out, there was also more than a handful of kangaroos.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Kangaroo Garden sounds like a great name for an indie band.

You have an unhealthy need for people to pay attention to you.

This sounds like a metaphor for your wife’s barren womb. If the land down under is barren, you can always adopt bro.

With a conspicuous, succinct, frank inflection in your voice, shout at them in a most vociferous manner, “I say, kangaroos! Off you go, you insipid mongrels.”

If this doesn’t work you may have to bring in Raul and his elite pest control team.

The wind wiped out my cucumbers and squash last year.

I've actually passed through Bungendore in 2003. It's nice country down there. It's not far from Canberra, which I thought was a pretty nice city. As far as the roos, I don't know what to tell you other than they are like the deer of Australia - bastards will jump right out in front of your car and total it.

But unlike deer, they'll kick your arse too

You chose a website based in Baton Rouge to ask a question about kangaroo prevention?
