Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. I have yet to meet anyone who've never had annoying flies in the house. Here's a cheap way to get rid of them. This YouTube video explains how it's done.

I have an A Salt Gun loaded with kosher salt. It's fun to hunt those little shits.

Bug A Salt, it’s fun and practical! Also effective on toddlers.

i wish those things could be accurate at 3-5ft

as it is you kinda need to be less than 30" away or the pattern is so wide its useless since its only 5-6 grains that come out per shot

Good old fashioned flypaper, until whatever dead animal in your crawlspace is fully decomposed.

Red Top Fly Trap

Hang it outside, away from the house, and it will catch thousands of flies. Just don't forget about it. I've used them for the past 6-8 years at the first signs of flies showing up. After a day or two, no more flies on my porches or trying to get in the house.

Had a Bug-A-Salt for years and upgraded to the SHRED-ER last year and love it. CO2 powered - they dont have a prayer.

im not paying $125 for that, im still waiting because i wont pay over $20 for the bug-a-salt gun and they are still at $40, but how does the SHRED-ER compare accuracy wise with the bug assault?

i always said they needed a damn pistol version of it because it has such limited distance to be accurate.

SHRED-ER

Review for it.
quote:

WORTH EVERY PENNY. DOES AS ADVERTISED WITHIN 3 FEET OR SO. IT IS SINGLE ACTION ONLY THOUGH.

In HI there are massive (in my eyes) Cane Spiders (part of the huntsman spider family) that run around and they are FAST!

I did testing with the SHRED-ER on paper grocery bags and aluminum cans and it seems like ~3ft is the sweet spot for anything larger than a fly, fly size insects are easily knocked out of the sky at further distances but my testing in that regard is lacking. I'd say within 10ft for fly sized flying bugs maximum, but closer is better.

A couple days after getting a pair of these and nothing I was just getting off the toilet and there was the biggest cane spider I have ever seen! It must have been 6 inches in diameter! I promptly yelled and realized I had left my SHRED-ER in my bedroom, I quickly grabbed it only for this massive spider to have disappeared. Well me and a friend went to searching for it, armed with one SHRED-ER each and a very bright headlamp we after many tense moments found it hiding behind a window shade and it sped towards us on the ceiling! I peppered it at ~5ft with a shot and it kept coming, within 4ft my next shot knocked it off the ceiling and into the bathtub, within hat 3ft sweet spot I'm pretty sure my first shot killed it, but my friend put another in it and I put 3 or 4 more shots into it for good measure.

Now it became 6 legged pickup. That's right, this Boss Level spider had lost 2 legs before I met it and it met its end. The abdomen was decimated, I later found part of the head 3ft away and 1ft higher from where it originally was.

The ability to have repeat shots is such a massive blessing. While at first the 3-ish ft effective range was disappointing you make up for it in volume of fire. My advice is always keep it on you at home, always keep a full cylinder in it, and always keep it charged up with CO2.

With the plastic barrel the weight is very manageable while handling it allowing for accurate one handed fire, the added cross block hammer safety is a nice addition if you have kids around. This is not a toy and it could literally put an eye or two out, so I'd make sure to practice the fundamentals of gun safety with it.

Now as far as what I'd do to improve it if I was BUG-A-SALT:

More Salt Per Shot, up the power per shot, and in doing so it should increase the range.

I hope to see some longer range products in the future (like a Gamo Viper break action with salt shells instead of lead ones), but this will do for now. I definitely wouldn't use it against Australia sized Huntsman spiders though, you'd only make them mad, maybe if you were lucky you could blind them.

I'm going to buy several more!

I recommend this product

Don't really have a use for it but I want one lol

Have a few cellar spiders (oddly they like ceiling corners)
They don't bother you if you don't bother them
Free and eco friendly

If I had a wife, I'd be offended.
