This. Why pay or go through the effort of removing it.

Someone will make a deer stand out of it.

Smash it up with an excavator and bury it in the woods.

Most people bury them in situations like that if they're in too bad of shape to burn.

depending on where it is located your local fire dept may Raze it for you - they like the practice

I was coming to post this. They'll protect the exposures as part of the control and try to get a couple of runs at room and contents before letting it get fully involved. Then just get a dumpster and fill it up with the debris.

Swap it with a new one, the lot will move it for you. No harm/no foul.

Insurance then squat on it and wait it out for a few weeks then place evidence that squatters were in it with crack and then burn it down.

This. If it can't be salvaged the steel frames can be used for several things. Hay wagon for the big rolls, I beams for farm or camp brige, etc

Been through this before. You can pay $2000 to have it demolished and hauled. Or you can have someone else on Craigslist pay you $500 for it and they have to move it.

What condition was it in?

I'm in a similar situation. I have a piece of property with an old doublewide on it that I want to get rid of, but it's in pretty bad shape.

how about you negotiate the cost of having a demo company get rid of it factored into the sale.

I'm looking to potentially buy a piece of property that has an early 90's model mobile home.
It is not fit for anyone to live in due to roof leaks and rot throughout. It is also full of trash and furniture.

Who do I call to remove this thing?
Anyone know the cost of doing something like this?

Before you burn and bury ask yourself these questions:

1. How big is the property?
2. Is there room to safely burn it?
3. Is there enough room to bury the ashes and remaining material after you burn it?
4. Have you called your fire department to make sure there isn't some ordinace that would prevent you from burning it?
5. Have you called the local water, power, and utilities to make sure where you are going to dig is safe to dig?

If the answer to those question is yes then rent a trackhoe or excavator for a few days, get a few gallons of diesel and wait for there to be a day without much wind.

Also try calling your local scrap dealer or recycling center. They might know someone who will come haul it away and/or buy it for the scrap value.
