How The Sugar Industry Shifted The Blame To Fat

Interesting NY Times Article that goes into how the sugar industry paid off Harvard researchers to blame fat instead of sugar.
I've been on a Keto diet since May(less than 20 carbs a day and all the fat I want) and my triglycerides went from 351 to 87. Cholesterol from 243 to 176. A1C from 5.7 to 5.0.
I was amazed at the results as I eat eggs, bacon, butter, sausage, red meat, etc everyday. I am not a crazy conspiracy person, but I do think sugar is the true culprit in most cases and not fat.

The documentary Fed Up also deals with this issue for those interested.

Do you have a guide that you used for your keto diet?

Anecdotal but I have lost more weight when I cut the carbs.

ketosis is a scientific fact, not anecdotal.
you can buy a $5 litmus strip kit to see for yourself.
you shifting your body's engine into fat-burning mode by laying off the carbs

Great changes in your numbers. Overall weight change in the process and and exercise routine?

Not really. I read the Keto subreddit a lot and asked questions on there. Just kept my carbs under 20grams a day. Read every label. You'd be surprised how many items have sugar in them. Like 85% of everything found in the grocery contains sugar.

Yeah ok buddy, you can keep your high falutin words and I'll stick what I know works, meth.

What's wrong with just eating a normal diet and not being a fat arse to begin with these days? What's so hard about that?

shop the edges; avoid the center

Have lost about 30lbs since May. Have not added any cardio or exercise. Most of the weight was belly fat. No longer have a beer gut. Most beers have plenty carbs btw, so I switched to consuming more vodka, gin, scotch etc instead, but limited to 1 or 2 a weekend.

so OT of you.
not everyone's metabolism works the same way.
why do you hate on people following a more traditional diet (prior to food pyramid nonsense) to help with fat burning?

The Domino sugar refinery in Chalmette produces 6M pounds of sugar per day and is capable of 8M lbs/day
I think they produce something like 85% of the sugar for the american market.
6 million pounds of sugar per day for 360M americans!

meth.
works great at trimming the fat but it's hell on your teeth.
Try cocaine. Much easier on the enamel but still has a lot of weight-loss properties.

I was eating a normal diet. Lots of low fat items or even fat free. Guess what they add when they remove the fat? Sugar.
It's not like I was eating big Macs everyday. I did drink more beer than I should have and those carbs & empty calories add up.

I think the physician from "Sugar, the Bitter Truth" has had that message for a while.

mpty calories add up.
But good luck to you and hope you get healthy and don't have to stick to some fad from here on out

Some folks have less resolve than others? You eating what you eat and his eating the same thing does not always work out. Why did you get hooked on drugs and others haven't?
