So I've been watching MTV's Catfish tonight, and I have to assume these people that fall for these monsters are complete and total morons. I can understand for a week or two, but for a long period of time, come the frick on. How does anyone fall for this in the age of Skype? I'd talk to the person, request Skype or Facetime within the week of it getting slightly serious, and then go from there. I just really have to assume these people are brain dead. I had a long distance relationship that I didn't know what she looked like, but within the week I started falling for her, I had a face-to-face conversation due to the technology that is around. How is it possible anyone falls for this these days?

You're assuming the show is totally real.

If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't.

Sadly, a lot of people just want it to be real so bad that it's easier for them to accept the excuses instead of actually believing that they may be getting duped.

Also, with these reality shows like MTV's catfish, there are always the idiots who just want to be on TV.

We were pen pals, we had alot in common, I asked for Skype, she wanted it as well, we Skyped, met up in person, and then started dating. How is that pathetic in this day and age?

My second wife turned out to be a catfish. Yet she was my favorite.

Falling for someone you've never met? Hold back on that until you get to know them. Anyone can write anything you want to hear.

She was legitimate and I have no regrets for that. 1 in 3 marriages start online these days. I saw her talking to me and within the week I was hanging out with her in person. Sorry, but frick you and your judgmental arse. I did everything in the logistical way of a long distance/online relationship that I was supposed to do. If I'm Skyping with her for hours at a time and then seeing her in person, this isn't a problem. frick you.
