It’s true that some kids are more challenging than others but in most cases, whether they turn out to be little shites or not is completely up to the people who raise them. Give him structure (a routine), and responsibility, both for helping at home as well as controlling himself. You and his mom are responsible for not just giving him happiness and self-esteem, but for raising him to be a non-shite.

I have an absolute monster of an almost 5 year old cousin, his mom doesn't have a GED and feeds him all made from scratch food, she does not work and the kid will hit adults and drop the F bomb...
