I’m just jealous as my family isn’t able to afford going on these trips and I thought I was doing really well.

We didn't fly our family of 4 all around the world in our 30s either. No Home Alone lifestyle over here

If you think 4 year olds should not experience other cultures and watch tv all day then we aren’t seeing eye to eye on this

I’m 33 and make 400k this year (240 last year, got a new job).

My wife is 32 and make 540k this year. (660 with bonus)

I'm 30, make roughly $90k, I invest 15% of my income, save another 5%, and have no debt outside of the $100k remaining on my mortgage.

Your posts make me feel like a financial genius.

Maybe, I didn’t make this much till recently and spend a lot since I have excess income. I don’t live frugally as much as I did before

First off. The kid is 4. There is no realizing cultures yet.

Secondly. There’s a gigantic swath of options between letting the TV entertain them and flying them to fricking Milan.

Eta
And earlier you said your wife didn’t take a job 3 hours outside of NYC so I’m assuming you’re in the NYC area. Flights for you are cheap, but they really aren’t if you live on the SE, MW, or really anywhere else not New England to get to Europe

Seems like the OP needs to live in the area where housing cost is less and OTHER citizens that have a household income of $75k live.

Few with family do. Its mostly DINKS.

Most around here do Seattle, Portland a lot, Hawaii. Not a lot of family trips to Europe.

I didn’t say 4 year olds shouldn’t see other cultures

But a 4 year old would rather go on a ride at Disney World than a boring tour of a castle - if you’re looking for more bang for your buck

There’s a place and a time for Europe - but when you take kids when they’re really little it makes it look like you’re being cheap

Our family trip growing up was usually to AstroWorld and to catch a few ballgames

The first time I ever flew on a plane was for SR trip.

And your solution for poor people is to just give them more money. Give them 400k and they will still be as financially illiterate as you

Your solution is to let them die off so I prefer mine

I bet you they do… I mean look who they keep re-electing, people like Bill Jefferson whom are known criminals and corrupt
