Just FYI I’m a teacher who lives in Dallas and I make more than 75k per year.

So I don’t see how the median household income could be 75k, it’s not like teaching is a high paying job.

This dude comes off as someone around 25-28 years old, got a nice little come up to about $75-85k a year, and realized the world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

I’m 33 and make 400k this year (240 last year, got a new job).

My wife is 32 and make 540k this year. (660 with bonus)

If you want evidence of either or, send me your LinkedIn. Unlike most of you, I don’t lie about anything because I don’t have to.

People my age (under 40) are taking family and couples trips to Europe and the Caribbean and all over the world. fricking how?
what's the problem?

who doesn't go on a couple nice vacations in their 30s?

eta: this isn't directed at you personally, but it seems like so many people on here can't fathom that other people have money to spend too. I drive a tahoe and spend a week on 30a every summer, but there's no way these other people can afford it like i can

I don’t have a problem. I’m just jealous as my family isn’t able to afford going on these trips and I thought I was doing really well.

A trip to cheaper part of Europe is roughly 4K for a family of 4. Not cheap by any means but more bang for the buck vs Disneyland.

We went to Spain and flight for 2 was 1300 (0 with points), hotel was 80 a night and food is dirt cheap

Then you should probably stop worrying about 2 million dollar homes, Porsche Caymans, and $17 sandwiches, because you’re terrible with money.

Thats the median for the country as well (Household income)

A two income household should easily be able to be above the median.

That seems fairly unbelievable.

So for a family of 4 just the flight would be 65% of the 4000 budget above.

Flight is only thing that multiples like that. Hotels can be same room, food is super cheap. Tapas with wine was 6 euro per person
