How quickly do you think Opelousas to BR would be if 190 were 70 the whole way?

Hypothetical of course. If 190 were freeway standards, with the speed limit at 70 from opelousas to BR, how quickly could you get from I-49 to the old bridge?

Even more of a hypothetical, do y’all think eventually the state should do this to alleviate the amount of vehicles on I-10? Maybe force certain 18 wheelers with extra large loads to take this route for safety.

Similar to how I-12 was constructed to take some pressure off of I-10 too.

59 miles at 70 miles per hour nets you a minimum travel time of 50 minutes and 34 seconds

Probably not much shorter than the ~hour it already takes. Most people speed the whole way except through Port Barre, Krotz Springs, and Livonia already anyways.

As it currently is your car would rattle itself apart way before you made it there.

That is a dangerous stretch between the potholes, speedtraps, and drivers escaping not being insured I keep my head on a swivel.

How many of y’all coming from BR west even use I-10? Do any of y’all just take 190 every time just to not risk it?

or you could just slow down and not get that ticket that you must've gotten that has you so riled up. its not like these aren't well known speed traps.
