I'm 36 and all my maternal grandparents died in the early 80's except for my Grandmother on my moms side who died in the mid 90's. Both my parents come from large family's and where the 2nd youngest. For reference my dad is 63 and my dads oldest brother is 80.

My great uncle is 96, he's the last of his generation. My dad passed at 61 and mom turns 62 this year. No older family left though.

I lose.

I'm 40.

All my grandparents and parents are dead.

My mothers death last year damn near killed me.

I thought I was the rock in the river that had become battered to the point of splitting.

Luckily I realized just lately that I was the one splitting the river.

This is a good question. Most people, on both sides of my family outlive the average age of death. I had a great grandmother who died at 94. She had nothing wrong with her when she died, she just died of old age. She might be the only person I know who died without it being related to something.

I have a great aunt who is 83. My dad and his dad are the only two people, going back to my great grandparents, who did earlier than the average age, both were in their 50s and both had heart attacks.. So that is kind of scary for me to think about.

My mom's dad has siblings who are still alive, they are up there in age, but I don't know exactly how old and my mom's mom has a sister and a brother who are in their 80s.

I think my dad's mom (who passed away 5 years ago at 88) has a brother still alive. He lives in Georgia. My dad's dad died on the day of my 1st birthday so I never really knew him and come to think about it, I have no idea about his family. I don't know how many siblings he had, etc.

Lost mine in March. It has been hell.

I have 1 grandmother left that I was never close to, so mom was the last of close family. Makes it cold world.

My Grandmother on my Mom's side (Bubbee) celebrated her 97th birthday last week.
