My youngest is 23 and suspects it.

My dad told me the day after Christmas when I was 7. I think it was because I got some good stuff that year, and he didn’t want some ghost getting all the credit. Broke my little heart that day as I finished raking the yard. What an arse.

how did your kid find out about Santa?

Well, like most, I found out Santa was real as an early teenager.

I’m still trying to figure out how to break it to our 23 year old

By fifth grade the cat is out the bag. In fourth grade they just act like they believe.
Third graders are still in it.
Third graders are still in it.

Found out he was real? I guess about 2 or 3..

I still say “if you don’t believe, you don’t receive.” There are lots of ways to believe at Christmas.

I never believed in Santa Claus.
My dad said that if he was going to be bankrolling Christmas every year, he didn't want an imaginary "Christmas clown" getting the credit for it.
If other kids ever came to me with some santa bullshite, I'd hit them with the truth. And they'd freak out.

Our 4th grader still seems to really believe in the tooth fairy, Santa, her elf, etc. Frankly, I’m surprised she doesn’t question it more, but I’m enjoying it while it lasts. It’s a fun age, to still believe in magic. And it’s fun for us to create the magic.

I figured it out when I was 8 thinking to myself, how can Santa live forever? Fake news, mom.

My brother is 9 years older than I am. It wasn’t til I was an adult that I realized my parents had to keep up the Santa schtick for nearly 20 years. And that my older brother & sister already knew & were pretending for my sake. As much of a bitch as my sister was, she never once told me just to ruin it for me. That made me respect them all the more. Long arse time to pretend.

Close to 20. They started when he was born in 71 & had to keep it up til whenever I stopped believing. 88 or 89, maybe?

My son is only 3, so he still believes. But we are teaching him that Santa is black. That way when he finds out he isnt real, he wont be so disappointed.

My son is 17. We have never discussed it........but he has known for a long time.
His sister is 11........she is still playing along and has a blast....so why tell it and spoil anything?
As long as both are having fun............parents should play along too. It will all be over one day anyway.
BUT........I am struggling with "Santa" because he doesnt have ANY clue what to put under the tree this year!
