I had to write a check recently and noticed that it was the last one I had.

Looked up the last time I ordered checks, and it was 12 years ago.

I still pay rent with a check each month and the city water bill because I drop it off in the drop box. That is the only reason I still have them. So twice a month.

Also when paying my parents for things because they won't use anything like Venmo.

I write them pretty often for hunting club utilities, donations to charity, little nick nacks like that. I do try to put as much on auto pay as I can though.

I couldn't tell you the last time I wrote a personal check. Probably at least 10-15 yrs.

The only time I write a check is when I need cash in larger denominations than the $20s I get from the ATM.

I don’t even know where my personal check book is… I mean, it’s at the house, but I’d have to really think to try to remember where I put it.

We do have a joint checking that we write maybe 5 checks a year out of.

Yesterday at the grocery the old lady in front of me wrote one. The cashier had to call the manager because she had no idea what to do. She rings me up and I pay with my Apple Pay on the phone. The cashier thanked me and laughed. CSB

Never. Also while we are on the topic, I wish 4 flat tires and a violent mugging on anyone who writes checks at the grocery store and holds the whole line up for 5 min

Twice a year for property tax.

Other than taxes, yesterday I wrote a check for $175, first time in years

Really only when something would otherwise require a fee. Association dues, stuff like that.

For some government payments to save a few bucks

For something like HVAC work at the house

Just get a free sheet of three checks printed at the bank instead of ordering them up in books

We write 4 checks a month... 1 every Sunday. Last box of checks has lasted over 4 years.

Same way I was yesterday.
I had a guy bring a load of gravel that turned out to be more cash than I had. I offered to Venmo it to him, and he said to just write him a check.
Finally found the checkbook after searching all over.

I live outside city limits. For some reason, the garbage people who cover my area still only allow cash or check. By mail. It’s stupid.

I do checks at work weekly with vendors and what not.

Personally, maybe wrote one a year ago. But I'll write the check over getting a 3% charge on debit and credit cards bc I'm cheap.

My grandmother still does this just so she can then record it all in the ledger for strict record keeping

Just to forget where it went so it was all for nothing

Rocco! Help the judge find his checkbook!

Can't imagine settling golf bets with a check.

But generally for church, charities, and our local water system whose on-line payment system I don't trust.

If you shop at Doringacs or Langenstein's, good chance someone is writing a check in the checkout line.

Just wrote a few to HS grads to put in the mail. I think it's the first checks I've written in at least 5-6 years.

I think it’s been a year or more since I wrote one.

Haven’t had a checkbook in well over a decade. I just go pick up a sheet of 3 counter checks every 3rd rare occasion that I need one.
