Depends on what I used it for. Typically I wash it after every use. However, if I use it to wash off vegetables one day I've been known to just rinse it off to use the following day

After every use, in the dishwasher.

I have an OCD brother in law who does this on items around his home. He notes purchase date, service dates, and any other random thing he believes is important.

I have multiple colanders and they all go in the dishwasher after every use. I can't imagine using them and not washing them thoroughly. Gross.
