I travel about one week every other month for work. That's about my limit.

The wife, toddlers, and I never, ever travel. We all hate our lives, generally speaking.

When we first moved out of LA, we had a similar schedule. Wife’s family was about 4.5 hours away and having recently moved her away from just 10 mins away she had a tough time not seeing them so frequently.

We did it for about a year before we said frick this. Now we go down 4-5 times per year. I travel for work about once a month, but we travel for pleasure 3-4 times per year.

One international vacation a year. 1-2 domestic vacations a year. Travel to see family for holidays.

I don’t have family in another state but we probably don’t even go to our parents’ homes (30 minutes away and 1 hour away) more than 5x a year each.

This was how it was when I still lived in BR years ago. I saw them a couple times a year...spoke to them on the phone every other month. Just not a close knit family. Never was.

Now with my parents and siblings here in AZ...I see them a couple times a month but this is mostly cause I handle all my father's various doctor's appointments from the various specialists he sees and have to go with him..and he sees his psychiatrist usually once a month.

My husband's parents...we only see them at major holidays and that is sometimes too much. I think he talks to them every couple of months. Usually via texts a week before a holiday to find out holiday plans.

Never understood people that talk to their parents daily to just chat. That's just really weird to me imo.

Try to get a vacation once a year with friends. Once I graduate college will be taking 2 or 3 weeks off to go to Europe or New Zealand

Daily.......maybe weird. But talking to my dad and mom a few times a week brings my spirits up and I know it does the same for them. Be it in person or on the phone.
