Is Jr. League a charity? I would like to donate stuff to them but it seems like they're a bunch of stuck-up rich bitches.

You know that's a loooong story. I can hold my head up high. During my time as chairwoman, the shop served lots of people in the community AND raised lots of money for other community programs.

WTH are you babbling about? I asked a simple question to the o-t and get some kind of confessional? Someone has a guilty conscience perhaps?

Damn weird chicks.

Every time it gets really cold outside I always think about people who don't have central heating or homeless people and how miserable it must be having to do whatever they can to stay warm, so I would like winter items to go them them.. I have several jackets and hoodies (actually I have a lot of hoodies, more than one person should have).

I’m the opposite of a hoarder. If I haven’t worn something in over a year it goes to goodwill. (Tuxedos and such excluded)

I did spring cleaning for the rest of my apartment a couple weeks ago and it is amazing the crap I had laying around in boxes. I need to go through my closet and do the same exercise. I’ll probably donate those to charity.

You are right about that. It's amazing how much more room you feel like you have.

The JL here has run a Thrift Shop for 83 years primarily as a way to provide items to the needy. A few women on the Board don't like it because it's beneath them so they held a vote to close it. It's a group of women so add about 989879873 tons of bitching and backstabbing, and that's pretty much it.

ETA: There are still lots of other charities that really do good things with the items/proceeds.

I found at first I was hesitating to throw some things out....

...by the end, I probably was throwing out too much stuff

It’s a mindset adjustment for sure.

At first I thought you meant this board.. as in the OT..

I was trying to think what women on the board would vote against this, but after a few seconds I got it.

Probably once a year. I need to do it again. My SO has way more clothing than I do. He has to have at least 40 Nike dri-fit tees hanging, and at least that many regular tees.

I keep my closet neat, but Aubrey has stolen parts of my closet and the spare bedrooms closets with her overflow. Her closet is just stupid. I bet there are rats and homeless people living in that m'fer.

She might just tell you they are homeless people. It might be her side pieces when you are at work.
