Almost 50 years old.

$20 in wallet for emergency.
Never use debit cards.

Use credit cards and pay off each month.

Keep less than 10k in checking for monthly bills.

Have about $15,000 in cash in a safe at home for emergency.

Good deal. Remember, managing money comes in second to being disciplined with your money. Without the discipline you have little use of the management of money.

keep about 2-3k in our checking accounts... have about 25k in same day accessible savings and I keep around 2k in cash at the house.. the rest goes in investment accounts or assets

This is precisely where I would like to be. Maybe 20k in savings. All else goes to investments

I gamble, hit bars, party i keep about 2 grand in cash on me at all times though only like $200 is in my pocket i keep the rest in a trap box in my car.

i actually do not have a checking account, I don't want anyone to be able to steal a check or write a check to themselves which has happened to me before

I have a bluebird debit card for play shite / misc shite that has about $2,000-5000 on it at any time

I have a few virtual credit cards that I use to do my real buying of shite that draws from my savings accoutn

all checks, deposits and everyything incuding paypal goes to one of three savings accpunts I have setup. One is foreal savings, one is just basically a fund me account and one is for business related expenses

Early-mid 20's. I always have at least $100 on me. Another $800-$1,000 at the house. Usually the checking account ranges from 2-3K and everything else goes into investments/ savings. I have a lot of my expenses linked to my credit card, so that bill is normally around 2,300, which is why the checking has that much.

Little or no cash on me. Usually around $10,000 in checking and $15,000 in savings. The rest goes into investments whether it be land, stocks, etc.

I have a separate savings that we use for saving for vacations. I think it has $11,000 in it right now. I'm 42 and my wife is 36.

I don't keep enough actual cash around, need to work on that.

We keep around 7-8k in our checking which covers all bills, house, etc plus a little extra in case of emergency

I travel a good bit on weekends during football season, so I try to keep a few hundred in my wallet. I bank draft most of my bills and house note, so I generally keep about $3500 in checking. I have my paycheck direct deposited into checking, so when it gets a little high, I transfer anything over $3500 into savings or money market.

And what do you all do with a savings account? I'd like to know what people have immediate access to in both checking and savings.

I have no idea what I have

My wife handles all home finance transactions

We sit down about once a year and I tell her what I would like to get done in the near future. She makes it happen.

I get money every Mondayfrom the ATM, I keep some cash in my gun safe. Don't carry much cash really. I use work cc for anything I think I can get away with with the IRS
