And not every Wehrmacht soldier killed a Jew. Doesn't mean they weren't on the wrong side of history. Look, I have ancestors that fought for the Confederacy. I'm just as connected to the war as you and any other Southern American, but let's not pretend that the South seceded for a noble cause.

That's what I was saying. The schools and towns stopped flying the State flag years ago. What's the point of having a flag that the schools and towns refuse to display.

I know I don't need to spell this out for you, but the only flag people have a cow over is the "Southern Cross" display. Nobody's saying anything about other flags of the confederacy because you don't have the Klan running around with them, and they're not flying in a bunch of redneck's yards.
For further explanation:
Modern Display of the Confederate battle flag.
It's not the southern cross, so no it doesn't.
It's not the southern cross, so forever.
Wrong. It's not the southern cross, so nobody cares.
Obviously has nothing to do with America, but either way, it's not the southern cross either. So who cares?
Wrong. Their flag had the southern cross on it from 1956-2001, but they changed it to something with a tiny stars and bars still in there. That wasn't good enough either. So today, it does not have the battle flag on there at all. So nobody cares.

Alabama needs an update too.
It's not the southern cross, so no it doesn't.

Do people forget that Texas has the Bonnie blue flag in it? How long does Texas have?

If Alabama's has to go then so does Florida's.

What about Scottland's?
Obviously has nothing to do with America, but either way, it's not the southern cross either. So who cares?

Let’s not forget Georgia changed their flag, but made it nearly identical to the confederate national flag. The real “stars and bars” that everyone seems to frick up. I guess they bought a few years

don't get me wrong, but I don't see a correlation.
The correlation would be that the St Andrew’s cross was not invented nor monopolized by the confederacy. The Cross of Burgundy (modified St Andrew’s cross in red on a field of white) was flown by Spain for 300 years in Florida and Alabama (and MS, and LA, and TX). Alabama and Florida’s flags are so clearly based on that flag that it makes comments assuming they are in the same vein as MS’s purely because the St Andrew’s cross is on them nonsensical

Many of the people that pick on Mississippi can't decide what gender they are today.

Well then, if Dr. Owen interviewed random citizens who were around at the time and they said it was based on the battle flag, then I guess that's the end of it.
Despite it being a different cross and shape and far, far, far more of a resemblance to the Spanish flag than the Confederacy, I guess we should go ahead and cancel them.

It's flying at the Mississippi Welcome Center on 61 in Woodville.

I like this variant flag Mississippi has.

Every welcome center in the state.
No college campus flies it, though they should lose state funding for that.

So basically it is the CSA flag with a tree and star.

St. Andrews cross was widely used by the Confederacy as a battle flag and Alabama's flag was created post-Civil war to preserve that. Not sure what else you need to be explained to you.

What’s next abandon the US flag because it was oppressive to native Americans?

Creating a flag with a different shape, no stars, and that resembles another historical flag far more closely than the battle flag is an interesting way to preserve the battle flag. The battle flag may have been based on the St Andrew's cross, but it was not the same.
To your point, even if AL and FL were super sneaky and got their flags to only slightly remind everyone of the Confederacy, the pure and blatant resemblance to the Spanish flag of the colonial era is more than enough reason for them not to have to replace it.

I know your lack of understanding is just from lack of education, but the St Andrews flag WAS the battle flag for several units of the Confederacy and that's why it was used for the Alabama state flag.
Alabama flag =/= the "rebel" flag
Alabama flag =/= the "rebel" flag
