It may be a small thing but if the people that have made fun of you for over a century by calling you fat, stupid and dumb try and demand you change something, then of course you will want to tell them to frick off.
It's like the bathroom bill from several years ago. The state said they were just going to look into it and then California, New York and a few other states said they were going to boycott Mississippi if it passed. Then Nissan said they were going to shut their Canton plant down if it passed.
Well, instead of just talking about it, the state legislature passed the bill instead as a "frick you" to those states and they called Nissan's bluff. Nissan shite their pants and fell in line after it was passed.

With all the battles and blood spilled by both sides in this state during the civil war it should be left alone as a reminder. My great great grandfather was captured at viscksburg and walked home to Grand Caillou LA after war endEd and that cajun damn sure never owned any slaves. Any oppression felt by that symbol this long after the war is lunacy. What’s next abandon the US flag because it was oppressive to native Americans? There is no end as literally everything can be seen as offensive to someone.

Let’s not forget Georgia changed their flag, but made it nearly identical to the confederate national flag. The real “stars and bars” that everyone seems to frick up

Are these things we really care to be reminded of? It seems that the confederate flag doesn't really provide any positive. What's to gain by keeping it around? You can call all the wokes arseholes and still change the flag because it's time to move on.

I don’t disagree with you but I honestly think if it is pushed through to go on the ballot again that it is too soon and it will be a “shocking” defeat for everyone

Champions doesn't just refer to titles. It also represents a time when white men were champions and black people were the help.

Gotcha at a State owned property. State owned properties are about the only place that still displays the State flag with exception of the public universities. When the public universities, local schools, and towns like Biloxi, Tupelo, Starkville, and Oxford refuse to display the State Flag it's time to move on.

The battle flag is based on the St. Andrew’s Cross of the Scottish flag
But correct the scots themselves have nothing to do with it. I think that decision was made in Virginia due to the large amount of Scottish and scots/Irish ancestry
