They just built one by my house, and it opened a month ago and they still have people out there directing the drive thru.

Was interesting enough to me, saw a podcast said, he made $27m his first nyc. store..

** 27m is going to fly over but, $8m is the most a chic fil a store will / has ever made according to the interview, Todd said they did $27m first year in NYC

Crazy. The man became a billionaire by opening a restaurant with the simplest menu and hasnt strayed from it. Not even a added mild/spicy option

When you put it this way, it is remarkable. I wonder what kind of venture capital or private equity (if any) he raised in order to expand his operation at first.

To calculate the Average Unit Volume for Raising Cane’s franchised locations in 2021, we will look at the sales data for the 567 Raising Cane’s units that were active in 2021. The estimated sales for those locations were $2.377 billion. That gives us an Average Unit Volume of $4,192,239 per location.

15% profit margin $628,849

So somewhere in between, $500K. That would be higher than most
Chick-Fil-A. CFA employee overhead is much higher than Cane's.

He worked on an Alaska fishing boat to raise the initial money. That showed potential investors he was serious.

Expanding was easier because it was a proven concept.

Many cities have traffic issues due to Cane's restaurants. It is insane.

Great Podcast called “How I Built This” on a bunch of businesses. One episode is about him and Canes. Search for it. Worth a listen. He owns 90% of those restaurants.

Yep, my girlfriend's teenage daughter (no pics, she's 14!!) thinks Canes is the greatest known food to humanity. We have a deal going that I buy her one chicken finger for each points she scores in basketball. I've spent more in Cane's in the last 3 months than I have my entire life. All of her friends love Canes, it's packed every single time we go.

A Canes chicken sandwich has 155 ingredients. 4 carcinogenic. Europe rejects locations opening there based on ingredients found in all their food items.

Has there ever been an unsuccessful Cane's location that closed, other than the one on Corporate in BR?
