How much is a mask worth???

Flew to Disney to this afternoon and in the airport (NO) the mask Nazi was surprisingly relaxed. Boarded the plane and one overweight mask Nazi was there radio and all. She actually chewed a dudes arse out for not wearing his mask properly. The flight attendants were telling everyone up and down the aisles to fix their mask. Ten minutes into the flight they start selling snacks. I asked if I bought a snack could I take my mask off to eat it and they said yes as long as you were eating. Paid $3.00 for bag of M&M’s and “ate” them the rest of the flight with no mask. Someone please try to make sense of this because I’m at a loss.

unless you've been living under a rock, you knew you were going to have to wear a mask on a plane...not sure why you're acting as if this is some kind of shocking new development

The only people who are still anal about masks and masking are autists. Which not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just take it into consideration when dealing with them. I suppose they can’t help it.

Lockdown
They Locked us up and promised it would only be two weeks,
We should have known the taste of power, itwould only whet their beaks,
And every new restriction that was placed “for our protection”,
It didn’t do a damn thing for the spread of our infection,
For trapped in isolation when the only thing we’d hear,
Were the voices from the TV stoking hate and spreading fear,
As the mighty carried on, played the rest of us for fools,
Holding court without restriction, while for us they crafted rules,
They forced into masks to muffle voice and hide our smiles,
Using terror to control us, and most listened for a while,
Promising us all salvation, in a booster shot or two,
New variants to stoke the fear, new viral bugaboos,
Now we’re two years into “just two weeks”, and still “two weeks behind”,
But when you look round for the plague, a bit of cold is all you’ll find,
So how long will you stay asleep, and let them have control?
First you let them take your freedom, soon they’re coming for your soul

We know now, (hell, we’ve always known) that 95% of them don’t do diddly. They serve no purpose but for a symbol of submission and control. Why perform an act that serves no point except to mark us as powerless peasants?

I fell asleep on a 6AM flight last week only to be awakened by a portly broad telling me to pull my mask above my nose. I just LOL at it.

I fly every week and have been using the same tactic. I buy two bigger bags of cashews. One for the flight to and one from. I’ve not been told anything despite each bag lasting 2 hours or more. For layovers, I go get chips and salsa and use that to not wear the mask at the airport.

I fly quite a bit and have since week four of the pandemic. I rarely wear a mask in the airport. I usually put it on as I go through security, then take it off. Yesterday I travelled MSY to SLC. I went through security sans mask.
Planes are a different matter. The trick to unmasking on planes is to wear it on the plane. You can take it off after that until boarding is finished, then wear it over nose and mouth until taxiing begins. Don it again as they begin serving. After that you can go without, or wear it below your nose.
