How much do you tip at your local car wash?

I’m usually a $5 kinda guy but when I paid today the machine gave me an option to tip 15%-20%-25%.
At first this seemed laughable and I entered a custom $5 tip. Then as I thought about it while I watched those guys working in the heat they probably deserve a 20% tip way more than some college kid waiting table who could care less about service.

Machine?
I hand my boy a 50 and they do inside and out. Hand wash on a full size truck
I think its 40. But they do great work. Equal to some 200 dollar details I have gotten iver the years

I don't tip but I do opt for the second highest option whatever that is.

None. Wash my ride by hand twice a week.

I know the manager of mine. Both my wife and I get free car washes platinum for life.

When I lived in the Bay Area a couple of the run of the mill drive through car washes had organized groups of homeless camped out the exit side. Once you stop your truck they all go to work wiping it down, cleaning your rims and tires, Cleaning your windshield wipers and mirrors, etc. and ask for a tip.
$5 basic drive thru wash, and letting the homeless clean it for another $5 was the best $10 washes I’ve ever purchased

I just do 20%. But its full service not a ride in your car machine.

Unless it's full service and there are people doing actual shite to my car, tip is not happening. I'm not tipping for someone to show me how to line my wheel up with the automated machine.

I wash my own cars just like I change my own oil.
