Hey guess who else makes 6 figures for all you morons who thinks a waiter can’t make $100k a year

Clothes salesperson
Real Estate Agents
Car salesperson
Jewelry salesperson
Art Dealers
Furniture salesperson
can confirm

Also know a few servers who made $30-40k a year part time in BR during college so I would think high end full timers would make a good bit more

Whichever kitchen guy is the coke/OC dealer in those places makes more than the highest paid server.

Full time Waiters at Galatories make well over $100,000. I bartended in college in the 90's and made over $50,000 a year working 5 nights. Keep in mind alot of that is cash too.

In college I worked in the Golden Nugget as a bartender. I made about $1200 a week in cash, about $400 every 2 weeks in tip share and about $400 a week picking up peoples shifts. That was an average week. Like it was stated, every night someone asks you to go out and most people did go out every night. I made a ton of money and even more than I was when I started out as an engineer. I would never want to live that life again. Fun at first, life sucking after a while.

These places generally have tables paying $500 with the occasional $1,000.

Work 5 days a week

That’s roughly serving $10,000 a week. If they get 25% tip that comes to $2,500 per week in tips

Per year that would be $120,000 a year

I see TikTok vids of TP and Hooters girls making 500-1000/shift. They count the cash in the video so its very real.

Most are single moms, so maybe some additional EBT money too.

I'm sure some people will say they made $100K. Great.

I'd be more throwed off if they actually had health benefits, PTO, etc.

I've heard it can be up to 100k. Don't know if thats correct.

This sounds great, but I would hate having to work every weekend, major event/holiday, etc...

Right. There are only so many weekend shifts available. They aren’t making as much on a Tuesday lunch shift.

This depends. If the same group of lawyers have lunch there every Tuesday. You making money.

For example, I worked at a members only restaurant and this was literally the types that were eating lunch there everyday. shite the mayor would eat lunch there.

And half the American that do make six figures live like millionaires paycheck to paycheck.

Maybe at hooters. The lunch crowd at places like galatoires are regulars with a lot of money and they will request the same waiter / table.

They probably make at least 100k at the really high end places. Plus they barely self report taxes, but they do pay out tip shares to busboys and others so that takes out a chunk of what they make right off the top

This is the key to happiness. I make much more than 100k, but to know me you’d swear I made substantially less.

But what many have alluded to is that being a waiter/waitress has a certain implied lifestyle.

There are entire bars around here that end up filled up with all the food service workers every single night after most places close down. Activities of all kinds going on well until the next morning.

They are just running through the cash they got that day until its gone and do it all over again

Of course, he’d been there forever. And that’s the key. You build relationships with high rollers.

Yup -- I know old school Nola families that will eat out at restaurants only when they know "their" server is working.
