Wrong.
You act like I am talking about owning a yacht and a vacation home on an island.
I was raised by a contractor and did the wall myself. It’s not that much cash. It’s not Fort Knox.

I have about $400 in random change in a Kentwood Springs 5-gallon water jug. Usually cash it in once year.

How much cash do you keep at home
Not sure why you need cash lying around these days.

where exactly do you live and where do you keep it?
also what time is everyone out of the house for at least and hour?
seriously though, cash isnt used much anymore, but i still keep about $500 on hand for emergencies like hurricanes and whatever where you might need cash

I keep about 2-3k on hand in a safe, mainly because I never know if I will need it. Like one time a friend called around 1am and needed bail money for being drunk and disorderly.
It helps to have in case of a serious emergency

haven't read the thread... so forgive me if already posted...
For those who keep over $2,000 cash at home, please also send:
- address
- work schedule
- dog situation
- alarm code
- safe combination
And for good measure, how much does your TV weigh?
