I know someone that spends between $3K and $4k every year. They block the street in front of their house right before midnight and put out all these huge sheets of plywood with all of the mortar rounds and shite on them. They run fuses to all of them and then light them with flares. They actually go through three or four rounds of this.

None.
My elderly neighbor spends a small fortune every year for everyone's entertainment.
He is usually done by 9 pm and hasn't burned anyone's house down yet and he probably goes straight to bed afterwards so nobody really gives him a hard time about it.

Yes they are insane. In a two week "selling season" you could theoretically profit about $10k-$20k in cash money.

For instance:

500 gram (top shelf box) cost about $10-$12 but sells for $50-$75

The real money is in the small stuff though. Example: Confetti Poppers (the kind that people pop during the national anthem) cost about a quarter of a cent each and sell for $0.25 for four of them. SO it is a 25x markup on those.

As long as you have a moisture controlled storage space the shelf life on them are about 5 years.

All I did was ask a question too, dude. And it was a genuine question...I lived in the Midwest for most of my life. Fire works weren't for sale around New year's like they are down here. Independence day was the only time people blew off fire works. I've only been in the south 6 years now. So I was just curious if that has recently become a thing up there. I remember my first New year's here, thinking how different it was to see fire works on New year's.

There’s a bunch of fireworks stands within a few blocks of my house in Gretna. No need to buy anything. At midnight they blow up a ton of stuff. Lol.

I’ve been watching two fireworks tent owners attack each other with online ads in the Central/Denham Springs area.

Their commercials at least made me want to stop by and spend some Taco Bell wages for the trailer park’s enjoyment.

Then you just couldn't afford it. No difference then going to the movies or casino. It's called entertainment.

Used to blow away $750-$1000 easy on NYE. Not a problem. That was a very small cost to entertain family and friends for a night. Would have a shite load of people at my house along with serving a very nice seafood gumbo and any and everything in the works. My place is idea to throw down a party for 100 people easy. Of course I would buy shite for other peoples kids, young ones. They had to get out there with them. Many great times that the family/friends enjoyed.

This year, I will just buy the grandson a $100 or so. Going to be way to cold.
