$225 to $250 a year range.

And how many regular and OT hours is that annually? How many night shifts?

No the engineers just get called put because the WW line has a pin hole leak and the shift supervisor and operators have not a clue of what yo do!

I see we are on our quarterly "shite on Working People" thread.

OT hates everyone, lazy people, working people, rich people, poor people.

My dad worked at Exxon in BR for 40+ years. He was an operator and eventually became super

Don’t recall him ever missing a single football or baseball/softball game me or any of my siblings played in

Was always home for Christmas Eve

It’s almost like he prioritized his family over his job. How strange

We haven't had a good plant operator pay thread in a while. I'm absolutely shocked Mingo is trolling this.

There are a ton of piece of shite workers at plants who spend every dime as soon as they get paid and work 320 days a year

Kinda like lawyers, engineers, doctors…

I was just laughing because he was talking about not missing any sports games as if that is the only important thing, while posting from work on Christmas day

I paid in social security in September lol…. After that it’s deer season and kick back on vacation and 7 on 7 off. I spend plenty of time with my family. I’m a head operator and have been with my company for 10 years. Id work 7-7 with OT long before I worked 5-2…. 5-2 people have no idea how shitty they have it lol. I can write my paycheck, work when I want, work out of town projects when I want. There’s freedom in that. Hell, if I use 7 days of vacation, I’m off 21 lol. Piss on 5-2

So you’re insinuating that I don’t have good kids or a good home life? Just curious as to what you believe is happening with everyone here discussing this. I’ve given you zero details of how much I work or how much I make.

Yet, you’re assuming I’m never at home and my kids and wife hate me?

For 1 to 3 year engineers that's correct for a fully certified operator. After 5 years that is incorrect. Past 5 years the engineers $/hr actually worked takes off.

If the operator wants to brag about he made as much as a 10 year engineer, but he worked 2400 to 2600 hours on the year and the engineer worked 2000 to 2200 hours congrats I guess?

Most people only see the 20ish to 30ish operators we call those “pussy and pocket change operators”…. And make no mistake, I’ll take a crew full of those fellas because they are hammers. People don’t see the 40ish operator that takes vacation around their kids bring out of school, birthdays and anniversaries. They don’t see the operator that comes off nights and stays up smelling like FCC bottoms and gets their kids ready for school and on the bus. Or the operator that puts in 12 then drives 2hrs to make a sporting event, goes home, sleeps 2hrs and goes back to work. Are sacrifices made? Absolutely! Is there a balance you must work to achieve between work and family? Absolutely! Family first, full stop…. If you can keep that mindset, it’s a great job. I’d venture to say, with 200k income, a pension, a 401k, vacation hours and an excellent health insurance, there may not be a better career for a man with a 2 year degree lol.

54 x2080 = 112,320
54x208 = 11,232

112,232 + 11,233 = 123,465

A Few days of mandatory training/ covering vacation 130k easy

I did the math for you.
