Where were you when the greatest team in college football history won the NC in the Superdome?

I was killing Mallards on my birthday in flooded timber when Nick Saban was hired to be the head coach at Alabama.

These aren’t “where were you” events. The event needs to be a single moment in time not multiple years of time.
If you wanted to say “Black Tuesday” that’s an event that led to the eventual depression. But the depression as a whole covered multiple years.
There is nothing like that for Covid. Every person, state, store, etc was doing something different at a different time.

Challenger. I remember it happened overnight (I was in Japan), and I learned about it from Paul Harvey on AFN.
Berlin Wall falling is another one not mentioned yet. It would have been in the middle of the day for the US when they started destroying it, but I remember the utter confusion of almost every adult and news anchor in the slow buildup and then very immediate bang.

The only 2 for me were 9/11 and the death of Randy Rhoads.

Outside of the obvious ones, Kobe’s death was pretty surreal

See that’s an interesting one and why I referenced in OP. I was born in ‘79 but still remember when I first understood what Pearl Harbor was.
“A day that will leave in infamy” and the understanding of that event is the only historical event that happened before my birth that I remember where I was when it “happened”.

I get your point but I do remember the moment I know everything was different. I was texting my buddy my predictions for the death rate and he replied that the NBA had just canceled the season. when the major sports were called off I figured it was getting real.
