was sleeping with a girl the lived in a trailer park in Porter back in my twenties and then her ex-boyfriend got out of prison and showed up one day without notice I was sitting on the porch talking to him telling him he couldn't go inside then kicked me in the side of the head then ran inside the trailer
she told me to get away as quick as I could , walked over to my truck started it put it in reverse backing up really not quickly I look up he has a shotgun ,suddenly I felt the urgency about the time I was putting in to drive he fired a shot I sped out of the trailer park ,stoped at a store called 911 saw him speeding past me got back in my truck went back to check on her then he shows up actually tries drive over me but I got behind as empty propane gas storage tank
got my truck and drove away 80 miles an hour never called her again saw few years later he had taken a shot at a game warden hid out for 3 days in the East Piney Woods finally caught him and he was doing life in prison

used a crappy voice to text applications do that so forgive me and I'm sorry for the oweo-like post

Besides the obvious car accidents and sleeping with married women, I was downtown at Centennial Park the night of the Olympic bombing.

I walked by that spot maybe 15 minutes earlier as I was leaving the festivities. I was around the corner from the entrance to the park and heard the explosion. The first presumption was fire works as it echoed against all of the buildings downtown. Someone in my group identified it as a bomb. I didnt get confirmation until I got to my car from Marta and heard on the radio.

That was one of my "stay up all night to watch CNN" experiences (first gulf war, world trade center, 2016 election results, etc..)

Was trying to get a tv antenna guide wire unsnagged from the opposite side of a roof and heard a loud pop. Wire hit the electrical service. Stupid me. Was working on FILs dryer and asked him to unplug it. He said its unplugged. I enter screwdriver and get lit up, yell WTF. He says oh I unplugged the washer. Luckily I only caught a 120 leg. Started to walk across a crosswalk and my buddy grabs me by the shirt. Car flies by.

1. hit by a car going 105 mph from behind and we were doing about 20 mph. I was in the back seat and walked away.

2. guy pulled a machete and a gun on me when I was drunk. I told him if he shoots me he better kill me. within seconds about 10 cops had drawn their weapons and he dropped the gun and machete. I never saw the cops and found out afterwards the guy was tripping on acid.

I was living with an older lady while interning one summer in college. She had a bunch of friends who were always in and out of the house, mostly in the backyard having beers and cooking out. One day i got off work and was taking a shower. I got out and opened the bathroom door, a guy in a ski mask was staring me straight in the face. In the moment I thought he may be a friend of hers there for a party or something so I said “hello?”, he said “hi!” and then ran out the house. It was at that moment i realized he was robbing her, I figure he was a junkie trying to raid an old ladies medicine cabinet and didn’t think anyone was home, thankfully he wasn’t armed because I was butt assed naked

As a kid I ruptured a kidney and did not know it. Bled internally for hours until I happened to mention to my parents that my pee was red, resulting in a quick ER trip and a week in the hospital.

While drunk walked out a 4th story window at age 18 and walked around a corner ledge then sat down to drink more longnecks and throw the bottles to smash in the quad below. If I tried that now I'd never make it around that corner without falling off.

Gun stuck in my face at 25 during a mugging, trying to talk the guy into just taking my wallet while he tried to make my wife give up her engagement ring. Cops happened upon us and exchanged gunfire with the perps as they fled from us.

I flipped my truck once, but was seatbelted in, and never felt in danger.

Once, though, I was kiteboarding, and the left line looped around the edge of the kite. This caused hard left steering, and the kite began looping. That's what generates power, so I was being dragged by the waist through the water, which was throwing a bow wave so big that it was covering my face. I couldn't breathe, and I couldn't reach the safety release because my arms were pinned by the water. It probably only lasted 10 seconds, but it is the closest I've ever felt to death because there was no end in sight. The kite paused on the water for about half a second, and that was enough to pull the safety release.

My uncle was there. Said he and another officer decided to eat outside the barracks that day. That choice most likely saved his life.

Those are crazy stories and reminded me of 1 more time.

I was top roping a relatively easy climb with a friend in Little River Canyon (AL) on a fresh route with lots of loose rock. The rope (I guess) dislodged a rock that was probably the circumference of a basketball and it grazed my left shoulder on the way down.

It tore my shirt and bruised & cut my upper arm, but it would have almost certainly made me a vegetable if not killed me.

I joined a website for football news and learned about a mystifying group of people who practiced something called "Shark Lyfe". I was immediately hooked and wanted to join them. Before I could get my appointment at the parlor for my face tattoos, they were wiped out. It could have been me.

Was at a pubic pool when I was really young and tried to make friends with a kid with a mental disability. Apparently I said the wrong thing and set him off and he forced my head under water and tried to drown me.

Only person in the pool to notice was my sister and she tried to pull him off but couldn't. Luckily she was able to alert a life guard who jumped in and got him off of me. I don't remember how long I was under water but I didn't end up going to the hospital or anything.
