Getting rid of frivolous spending? Getting a constitutional convention together?

Personally I don't care, I left.

You're right but it is what it is...

I live in Ascension and would happily vote for a regional sales tax to improve roads

The latest plan is a huge grab bag. Too big, and not in sync with the rest of the region.

How are plans to add lanes to Hooper, old Hammond, Pecue, Airline Hwy and Nicholson not in sync with the region? All of those basically tie into surrounding Parish / EBR Parish growth and seem to be in alignment with future interstate/loop/Southern Bridge planning.

You should demand the excise tax already in place to fix/create roads actually be used for that purpose and only that purpose.

Unintentional Bazinga. Why should the residents of EBRP pay the Lion's share of cost to improve commutes for people from LP and AP, among others. Particularly given that those are state/federal highways.

I've repeatedly tried to get on the CSRS GL website and can't anymore.

I also know GL money was used to pay HUD back because federal money was misspent by the parish,

But I do appreciate the link.

Considering how I-10 is actually being funded, I’m not understanding where you’re getting at.

It was hypothetical, but does this plan not include work to both federal and state highways? That's the point. Placing a financial burden on one parish to improve traffic for those that already left the parish is moronic. Find the state/fed funds.

They raised taxes 1.2 Billion dollars just three years ago and when that expired they raised taxes 600 million dollars.

Taxes get raised, they just go to movie folks, nursing homes, pork projects, and lot of non govt, entities.

Considering the current backlog in state projects, there’s no way that’s realistic.

You're basing your reality on a fantasy MoveBR plan. Sure all of those improvements would be nice, but just because someone aimed for the moon doesn't mean the stratosphere isn't realistic. Besides, did you not read EBR would be paying for THIRTY FREAKING YEARS??!?

"Seem to be in alignment with a future interstate/loop/Southern Bridge planning" , how is that?
Have you seen a plan that's close to being halfway developed? I see a bunch of spaghetti lines on a map,

Do you know where the bridge is going? Please share.

I see Broome's plan bottlenecking 30 at the Iberville line, Airline at the Ascension line, and I don't see those parishes or Livingston trying to network with EBR. I don't see any regional planing or cooperation.

It was said that in order to have a shot at getting another bridge, Nicholson would have to be widened. That of course is included in the plan.

Let me add this.

Wasn't there a regional planning commission recently constituted to look at regional fixes to the BR metro traffic issues?

If there's consensus for a regional gas tax as has been discussed along with a regional plan; why are we going it alone by improving these federal and state highways in our parish?

I Supported GL2, and plan on supporting MovEBR. It’s either pay this tax, or pay in gas sitting in traffic over a period of time.

Or option 3 - Pay for the tax, and still sit in traffic as your tax money is WASTED --- as usual.

The money will not fix the problem. The problem is the POLITICIANS.

What has our fantastic mayor accomplished? Other than hiring a bunch of her friends and making sure the kickbacks all go to the people that got her elected? Just got my new Council on Aging bill..... Whoops, I meant property taxes....

A new study shows that 1 in 10 Americans are close to being retarded (83 IQ)..... why do they all live in Baton Rouge??

Exactly.

Too bad many dindu's are too dependent on the goberment and don't work, so they don't see how raising taxes is a bad thing, when they don't pay jack shite. We should have it that if you are receiving goberment funding, then you can't vote on issues where getting more tax money is in vote, since they aren't paying shite into it.

I'm voting no. Sick & tired of paying taxes having politicians steal my tax dollars & fill their pockets.
Our so called leaders are not only corrupt, they are thieves.
Unless/until our politicians are more responsible & less criminal I will not be voting for another tax.
Broome is just another Dem crook who is defying her own city council & trying to shove her moronic "green" agenda on us. Dont fall for the "we're all dying without more taxes" bull s h I t.

Besides, didn't our esteemed legislature "discover" a state budget surplus of 300$ million recently?
Just another money grab.

If you want to pay for new/ higher taxes, why don’t you write a check for whatever extra you’d like to contribute now and send it in?
If you’re gonna sit here and knight for more taxes, pony up!

You would have to be a dense moron to vote yes on any tax proposal in EBR.

How much did the parish already spend to make those commercials?
