A little easier to tolerate a 900sqft condo if it's in Manhattan and already cost $1.2M

Not sure. 450?

EDIT: just measured. 400

I think I could by a place but really not interested. I understand the benefits but I am content with my current situation. Not interested in owning a "home".

1br/1ba aparment. About 850 sq ft.

Would love to get into a 2br, but waiting until we're ready to purchase for that. Don't feel like paying what it costs in rent for one right now.

1850, 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Me my wife and two kids. Plenty of space for us and I could go smaller if it were just me and my wife.

The place I am at here in Cali is only 1100 sq ft but I live on the beach. Waves woke me up last night they were so loud. It's tough.

Plus I am single and never really stay home so 1100 is overkill.

I'm about 300 yards from the Puget Sound. Too cold and rocky for the classic beach life but great scenery.

We have a 4 BR, 2-story house that's right over 2100 sq ft. We also have a finished basement that is 700 sq ft. It's overkill for me, my wife, and our 1 kid but we bought the house for its rental potential for when we have to move. Even though its too big for us, the basement is sweet and I spend most of my time down there.

Realistically, my forever home needs to be under 2000 sq ft and I would be happy with 1500. I do want a larger lot of at least 2 acres.

It's beautiful up there. Not for everyone but one of the prettiest places I have ever seen.

We are very comfortable in our house. I have no desire to own anything larger nor would I want anything smaller than 2000sq ft again. Our previous house was 1800 and it felt cramped, however it was a 2 story. That kills the space in a home.

Why?

Why do 2 people need 3000 sqft?

Seems like a lot of rooms and space they wouldn't use. Unless they bought the house as an investment.

Me, wife, and son are in 2400 swft and we have 2 rooms we never go in.

Stupid may have been a strong word.

My house is about 1500 to 1600 sf, 2 bedroom 1 and a half bath but I bought it when I was single about 8 or 9 years ago. Once I'm married in March and she and her daughter move in then we will be building a new house. Ive been working on some plans and am leaning towards something around 2000 sf but 3 bed and 3 and a half bath. I don't need a ton of room, I may end up building a steel building to do my man cave thing in.
