I went from managing a hedge fund to running venture start ups in the valley. Does that count?

My wife was a warranty claims person for a national RV company until about 32 and ended up as an insurance agent. She's done well for herself.

Was military 11 yrs

Now a full time student

Have no clue what I want to do, just getting my fancy piece of paper.

Have your kids study math and instill good study habits for the future.

I did right around 30. I had a decently respectable but mostly dead-end job in IT in Baton Rouge. Knew I could do better than that, quit my job and moved to DC.

Looking back it was exactly the right thing to do.

I switched industries and took over a family business when I was 32. That was 11 years ago.

I was in the military for 20 plus years then retired. Got out and do real estate appraisals now. It's a total 180 from the military, which I was ready for. I tell my wife and friends that every day I go to work thinking that if one person irritates me, I'm quitting right there on the spot but it hasnt happened yet, so I keep doing it.

I have changed directions / careers several times in my life just because I could. Numerous people have said that they were amazed at my ability to do it. I don’t think it is a testament to me but rather a sad comment on the way people live their lives scared to try something different. At the end of the day, you get one chance to ride this rock and you should do your best to enjoy it. What else is there?

I went from being an operations manager at a warehouse to bring a plant manager at a recycling plant. So far it’s been a great transition.
