How many people here deal with anxiety/panic attacks on a daily basis?

I've been dealing with them for a few years now, but lately they've flared up really bad and it's hard for me to do normal, daily things without feeling like I'm dizzy and my heart is racing... Sometimes it even keeps me from leaving my house..

I don't know how common it is or even if that is my proper diagnosis, but it honestly is really scary not knowing what's wrong with me

Maybe I've just let everything build up inside of me for too long, I recently got laid off, lost a family member, saw a good friend of mine lose his fiancé and his son at the same time, etc, etc... I honestly don't know what to do or who to turn to for help besides family members but i get the feeling that they are tired of talking me through these episodes

Go to a doctor. Therapy or medication may change your life

Not me. I'm perfectly fine with personal interaction of the internet. Why do you ask? Did you hear something?

What are you looking at? Anyone else feel nauseous?

Why are you all looking at me?

Give me attention but don't look at me! Love me from afar!

Get a grip, weirdo. Nobody cares.

I had anxiety issues in college because I was a frickup and wasnt sure if my life would ever change. Still have anxiety but it's nothing of major importance. Life is much easier for me now.

It sucks, I have just an underlying worry all of the time. The problem is, that's what makes me good at what I do. I see the little things, the strings of bigger issues, and whenever I took medication I couldnt do that. It's a bummer, but ironic that one of my biggest issues is my biggest strength.

You shouldn't take life too seriously. You'll never get out alive.

I used to have them really bad. Heart racing dizzyness faintness. I couldn't go to places like the mall / walmarks. I got on Lexapro and it helped trendously. I can now do just about anything. Still get dizzy from time to time in large crowds but no where near the attacks I used to have. Talk to your doc about Lexapro. Be aware it has to build up in your system before it starts working.I think I started really noticing the benefits after about 3 weeks of taking it.

You can also supplement Lexapro with something like Klonopin to take as needed. If I'm going out to the mall or something I'll put a klonopin in my pocket before leaving the house. I'll also take one before an event like weddings or football games etc.. They're nice to have around to take as needed.

I get it bad when i'm hungover. seriously. I just keep Xanax with me in my truck and home and take a half of one if I feel it coming on (usually one a week). usually the feeling will subside if you breathe slow and deep and reassure yourself you are not dying. its a mental thing that only you can deal with.

That sounds exactly like my problem.. I called my doctor while having a little episode yesterday because I honestly don't know how much longer I can take it, and he sent in two prescriptions for me - Xanax and inderal (to try to lower my BP)

Therapy along with medication is the best route. You might have to try different medicines to see how you react before you find the best fit, so give the meds a month to see if they are beneficial.

Honestly, I wouldn't wish this feeling on anyone, but it's good to know that I'm not the only one dealing with these issues... It's really hard to try to explain to someone how you feel if they've never experienced it themselves

It's just weird that now it seems like it happens to or three times daily

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you drink. You should stop if you have that bad of anxiety. It will exacerbate any underlying issues. I'm not a doctor but I knew a guy studying for med school back in college.

Xanax is a wonderful and relatively inexpensive drug that your doctor should be willing to prescribe if you have a legitimate anxiety condition. It is addictive, however, so just like all else - everything in moderation. Marijuana is also effective in treating anxiety.

Despite my username, I'm really not a drinker

I don't drink on week nights, just usually Friday's or Saturdays
