I would be disappointed but not because of his or she's sexual orientation but of how they may have to struggle with it in life. Gay rights have come a long way but many are still struggling for equality.

Go head and tell me when you "decided" to like the opposite Sex.... I'll hang up and listen
I'll bite.
1. I had the privilege of having a mom and dad. (that would fix a ton of America's issues, in general, not just regarding sexual preferences)
2. I liked girls because I know that I was a boy, and that's how things are(see #1).....and Dat arse.
3. I noticed dogs/animals had sex with the opposite... Um sex.
It's kind of scary to me that more people don't find it unnatural, when it is by definition unnatural. I don't hate/dislike homosexuals at all, they happen to be nice people (the ones that I know). But I don't have to agree with them based off my opinion due to my faith and natural logic. Btw they're pretty ok with my opinions.

Wouldn't care. Let children make their own decisions, they're adults for god's sake.

Disappointed? Yeah, I would. But I'd still love them no less and wouldn't express my disappointment. It's ultimately their life.

I would be extremely disappointed - of course I would still love my child, but I wouldn't compromise my values and belief system to cater to their sexuality though...

I would still love him but I would be crushed. Being gay has a lot of negative consequences, pretty easy to look up the stats. If you don't care that you're kid is now susceptible to those awful statistics then you're a bad parent.

I would be disappointed but also ...
I would be sad for them because no matter where they choose to live or how they conduct their life, someone, somewhere will discriminate, or look down or get in their way because of their sexuality.
Being gay in our society, although much easier than it used to be, is still very tough sledding.

Disagree. If you are an otherwise normal gay you will be treated normally in pretty much any situation. Unless you walk into a mosque or something.
Now if you are a fruit flamboyant gay thats a different story.

It would have been super neat if both your parents had been gay.

I wonder how many of these parents that think this are divorced with children...
and all the gay people I know are pretty successful, which I know is just anecdotal, but I'm confident enough that I could be able to raise my child to be a "normal", average person that just happens to be gay, rather than being some flamboyant caricature that some gay people become

It's all in the raising. So I have zero percent chance of having a queer kid. But if I did, I would disown them.

Is there a lot of gay culture in Rayville?

easier said than done
My wife's grandpa disowned her uncle when he came out. The Grandma did not. This obviously caused a riff in their marriage and they got a divorce because of it.
Now the Grandpa lives alone in the woods and has no family. He is basically an angry hermit and will die alone.
The Grandmother still has the love for all of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Just a little story of how disowning children has its consequences.

There's been a few here and there. All raised by their mama except one. Not sure what happened to him.

I would much rather my kids be gay than gumps.
That would make me physically ill to know the public ridicule they would receive and be outcasts their whole lives...people snickering behind their backs. It's heartbreaking to even think about...
"But Dad, we have 1,000 nattys! yeeeeehawwwww."
Aye Carumba.

I do. Ever since your "is there anything better than a gay uncle" thread. That was a classic
